The Deliverer

Holy cow! What an evil little episode! (Especially to a Gab fan like me!) And i thought that The Price was nasty...Anyway, not much in the way of subtext except for the rather physical way Xena uses to comfort Gabrielle through her many...crisises.
Molly also pointed out to me: "I never noticed before just WHERE Xena nudged Gab at the beginning when she told her to slow down. Dunno how I missed that since Gab seems a little miffed and spends about twenty minutes adjusting her BGSB.
kgalles points out: Notice that Xena gave up on the battle with Caesar when she noticed that something was wrong at the temple -- where Gabrielle was. Although Xena's zest for revenge against Caesar got Gabs in trouble, Xena realized her error and ran to save her.
Val points out: Just wanted to throw in something else from that otherwise grim episode, The Deliverer. When Xena and Gab were on the boat bound for Brittania, Gab was below with that Craftstar guy showing him pressure points and talking about his "one god." Xena walks up to them, looking dissaprovingly at their closeness. Gab says to Xena that Craftstar is telling her about his god and that it was interesting. I can't remember the exact words, but Xena says something along the lines of "that's nice" while her lips curl and her eyes roll. She walks away, jeolous. Nearby, she sits down and starts to sharpen her sword. Gab quickly walks over to her (like in the "oops, did I piss her off mode), sits down next to her and asks, "what's up?" to which Xena snaps back, "Why does anything have to be UP." Oooh, jeolous are we?
