Been There, Done That

Great episode. Anyway, Joxer dies, and Gabrielle is grieving. Xena embraces her, and then tells her to sleep, pulling her down and cuddles with her, stroking her hair. When she wakes the next morning, she is instantly aware that Gabrielle is not next to her and immediately starts felling around for her. Later she is explaining to Joxer and Gabrielle that she is reliving the same day over and over again. To prove she isn't deranged, she says she has no marks from a poison dart, or any bacchae bites, exposing her neck. "Is that a hickey?" asks Joxer, looking at her neck. Gabrielle turns away, looking guilty and awkward. Later after Xena wakes up and finds Gabrielle is not dead, she gives her a great big hug and is bouncing up and down with joy. Joxer walks in on this, but does not seem to find it unusual. Finally, at the end, Xena is standing behind Gabrielle holding her arms around her and waving turnips in front of her chest. Visually, that was very suggestive to me. But, as this page attests, i don't get out much. :)
Phoenix69 points out: After Gabrielle is killed in the alley, the next day when Xena wakes up she feels around in the hay. A sound like a happy sigh/moan/giggle is heard and then Gabrielle sits up. Now I wouldn't have thought much of the sound if I hadn't noticed that when she sat up it was obvious that Xena's hand had felt around a little 'low' and that sound was a little contented.
The Jade Warrior points out: "There is another Sub-Text in "Been There, Done That". When Xena is trying to explain to Gabrielle and Joxer about the day repeating, she enters into a "fast-talking" scene of answering all their questions before Gabrielle and Joxer could ask them. During this quick answering dialogue, Xena says "Yes, Both Ways" and looks at Gabrielle. [i'd like to point out that Xena also kinda waggles her eyebrows as she says it -scott]
Marta points out Joxer says "Look, I know lots of people who have bonded over their mutual hatred of me. You tow for example." Xena and Gabrielle look at each other. "He's got a point," says Gabrielle.
