Intimate Stranger

Shiloh points out to me: "I think even the title represents a good argument for subtext, implying Xena is the intimate of Gabrielle, but in a stranger's body. Now, if that's not blatant, subtext . . ."
From Ignacio: "Intimate Stranger: In their first fight, Xena (in Callisto's body) asks for Gabrielle, and Callisto (in Xena's body) answers ironically: "Gabrielle? Gabrielle? Oh yes, it's true, now I'm Xena, so she's now my little friend..." This can imply that she took advantage of her new body and did with Gabrielle what Xena usually does... anyway, it's obvious she's trying to provoke Xena, attending to her expression and ironical tone. And jealousy is one of the best ways to make someone loose control."
Katharsis9 wrote telling me of the scene where Xena (in Callisto's body) has pinned Callisto (in Xena's body) on the ground. Gabrielle cames up behind them and holds a knife to the back of Xena's head. When Xena finally convinces Gabrielle of her true identity, she is so relieved that she turns to Gabrielle, smiling, and allows her most hated villain to use this moment to hit her and escape. Seems there is one way to break Xena's concentration.
