Comedy of Eros

Xena liplocks with Draco and Gabrielle says to Joxer "It's all part of her plan...I hope." Xena, apparently finished, walks back to Gabrielle who says, "We need to talk!" When Gabrielle is hit by Cupid's arrow, in slow motion she turns towards Xena, calling her name. Xena, behind a post, comes round the other side also calling Gabrielle's name. Just as they're about to make eye contact, Joxer steps in the way. Finally, Draco, in love with Gabrielle, threatens to burn down the temple she is in unless Xena hands over the virgins. "You would kill the woman you love?" asks Xena. "The question is: would you?" returns Draco. Sydell noticed that when Draco expresses his love of Gabrielle, Xena counters: "You cant want Gabrielle! Between you and me, she's a little..." and Xena shakes her hand. Just a little bit suggestive. :)
Fellow subtext watcher Ignacio adds this remark: "Just at the finish, after Xena has demanded Cupid to let all "as before", Xena, Gabrielle and Joxer stand at night around a campfire. First Gabrielle and then Xena try to comfort the brokenhearted Joxer, now not loved by Gabrielle anymore. But done that, Gabrielle discreetely walks behind the bush, and immediately Xena follows her. Why do they leave the campfire at night? And leave Joxer alone? Maybe because they don't want to offend Joxer with their recovered love?"
